Ember & Oak Kitchen was born from a simple belief: the best meals begin long before the kitchen. Chef and founder Marcus Calloway spent a decade cooking in Michelin-starred restaurants across California before returning to Newport Beach — where he grew up — to open something more personal. Something rooted.

Every dish on our menu starts with a conversation — with the farmers in Irvine and Temecula, the fishermen in Dana Point, and the ranchers in the San Bernardino foothills who supply our kitchen each week. We write our menus around what arrives at our back door, not the other way around.

Open-flame cooking is at the heart of what we do. The oak smoker, the wood-burning grill, the ember pit — they're not gimmicks. They're the philosophy. Fire transforms ingredients in ways that nothing else can, and we built this restaurant to honor that. Come hungry. Come with someone you love.
